Our Founder's Story
Gregory Tyler is a decorated para-athlete, technologist, and entrepreneur. After sustaining life-threatening injuries and losing his left arm in a harrowing motorcycle accident in 2008, Greg found a new meaning in life through adaptive sports. He began competing in para-triathlon, completing over 50 races and representing Team USA at the 2012 World Championship. He later raced velodrome, earning a national podium and serving as a 2016 Paralympic alternate.
In parallel, Greg built a successful career in technology, working on early Android OS and Amazon Cloud projects before earning degrees in Computer Science and Data Sciences from Chapman University. He founded Chapman’s triathlon club, launched an AI automation company that optimized dental practice operations, and later applied AI to healthcare as a Computational Research Scientist at Children’s Hospital Orange County.
Frustrated by the persistent obstacles para-athletes face in their training, including the lack of suitable adaptive sports centers, Greg founded GT Real Estate Holdings in 2023 after obtaining his commercial real estate certification from Cornell University. The following year, Greg established his flagship adaptive sports center in Bakersfield, CA, which serves as a beacon of hope for the local community and offers a blueprint for future centers. What began as one survivor’s dream has now grown into a passionate and dedicated team that is working tirelessly to expand Performance Therapy Centers nationwide, restoring a sense of hope, a sense of community, and a sense of vitality for the disabled community.
Greg’s unshakeable perseverance and determination have guided his success both in business and in sports. He continues to compete around the world with Team USA Fencing and is eager to compete at the LA28 Paralympic Games.
